Church Road Chardonnay
This elegant, yet powerful barrique-fermented Chardonnay is true to the Church Road style. Crafted using traditional winemaking techniques this premium wine marries ripe, distinctive fruit characteristics with subtle toasty oak and savoury complexity.
This wine is a dry, barrique-fermented style of Chardonnay. Light straw in colour, layers of ripe creamy peach, melon and fragrant citrus are enhanced by a refined seam of toasty, nutty French oak and subtle mealy, savoury complexity derived from yeast lees stirring and a portion of malolactic fermentation. Delicate handling of the ripe and concentrated fruit has produced a palate which exhibits both elegance and power with a lingering finish. The weight of the fruit and oak is balanced by a restrained seam of natural acidity. Perfect with smoked salmon and asparagus salad with Kumara chips.

Church Road Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon
This full-bodied, complex blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Cabernet Franc is true to the classic Church Road style. Crafted from ripe Hawke’s Bay grapes using traditional Bordeaux winemaking techniques, this premium wine marries ripe, concentrated fruit with toasty oak and earthy complexities.
A full-bodied and complex Bordeaux-style red, deep, rich red with bright hue. On the nose, rich berry fruit characters are complemented by savoury French oak and complexities of dark chocolate and spice. A complex, dry red wine with good concentration and flesh, balanced by a backbone of supple, ripe tannin. The finish is long and ripe.

An elegant dry style Pinot Gris. Pale straw with aromas of perfectly ripe Gala apples dominate, with hints of lemon blossom and an underlying mineral complexity. This dry style Pinot Gris exhibits good palate weight, naturally low acidity and a soft long textured palate.

Church Road Reserve Chardonnay
Church Road Reserve wines are produced only in great vintages. The very best low cropping vineyard blocks are targeted for selective hand harvesting to give wines with the greatest possible flavour, depth and concentration. In the Winery these wines are made using small batch, traditional winemaking techniques that emphasise texture, structure and subtle complexity, while still letting the fruit to shine through.

This sweet wine is a true French Sauternes-style Noble Sémillon with a distinctive New Zealand signature. Rich and intensely concentrated, it has been crafted from fully botrytised grapes from our Korokipo vineyard in Hawke’s Bay.
The rich yellow-gold of fully-botrytised dessert wine, this wine has an intensely concentrated bouquet of apricots, citrus, honey and almond supported by a subtle crème brûlée richness from fermentation in French oak. Church Road Reserve Viognier 2007
Viognier is a grape variety that originates from France’s Northern Rhone Valley, where it produces the full bodied aromatic white wines of Condrieu. True to style this rich wine was hand harvested, whole bunch pressed and vinified using traditional winemaking techniques.
A powerful, full bodied white wine that blends the aromatics of ripe Viognier with the extra richness and complexity derived from sensitive winemaking. Pale straw, the fruit brings opulent honeysuckle, dried apricot and spice to the aromatics, with savoury, mealy complexity coming from fermentation in older French oak barriques. A rich full bodied wine with great mid palate concentration and length of flavour that echo the aromatics. A proportion of malolactic fermentation adds textural interest and a softer acid structure.

Church Road Sauvignon Blanc
This distinctive Sauvignon Blanc is from grapes sourced from an exciting new sub region of Hawke’s Bay – Matapiro Vineyards which are further inland and higher in elevation. The grapes from here marry the ripe tropical flavours and softer acids typical of Hawke’s Bay, with vibrant herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc characters that are evocative of Marlborough. This complex wine is more refined and has more texture than a typical New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
This wine is a complex style of Sauvignon Blanc, light yellow/green in colour.
